What FQHC designation means to Cloverdale:
With the grant award of $650,000 a year AVH will expand health services in Cloverdale.
Dental will re-open at 3rd St. location,
Assist Cloverdale School District with health screenings,
Implement programs such as nutrition education, chronic disease management and peer lead support groups,
Expand mental health services including substance abuse
Expand outreach and enrollment for Covered California, assistance to any community member whether they are patients at AVH
Ensure access to primary care services locally (the ability to recruit and retain physicians by offering competitive salary and benefit packages)
Access to funding for a community wellness center (new building)
The vision for health services in Cloverdale is a medical center that provides multiple services in one location and designed to accommodate all populations, children, young adults, seniors, (seniors do not have to sit in a waiting room with sick kids), bringing services to one location like podiatry, chiropractic, specialist such as orthopedics, cardiology will once again come to Cloverdale to see patients and even alternative medicine services.
Receiving FQHC designation ensures health care services will remain in Cloverdale well into the future which will also support and improve the economic health of our community.
