Election 2024
As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Alexander Valley Healthcare relies on Federal grant funding to care for the most vulnerable in our community.
While we will know more in the coming months, here is a statement on the election results from the National Association of Community Health Centers, the leading national advocacy organization in support of Community Health Centers and the expansion of healthcare access for the medically underserved and uninsured.
National Association of Community Health Centers
We remain hopeful that the new administration will continue to recognize the value of our collective work.
Update from Debbie Howell, CEO
It’s been a little while since I last shared an update on the Alexander Valley Health and Wellness Center, and I want to express my deepest gratitude for your continued support and patience as we work to bring this important project to life.
Capital Campaign Progress
We have made remarkable strides in our capital campaign raising over $3.7 million in cash and committed pledges towards our $5 million goal including:
• $1 million from the County of Sonoma Department of Health and Human Services thanks to the leadership of Supervisor James Gore. The County has also committed to leasing space in the facility to offer psychiatric and social services for the region.
• $500,000 from Cloverdale residents Darlene and Bruce Reuser, owners of Reuser, Inc. who will name the first floor of the center in memory of their daughter, Tina Reuser Dogali.

This year, you can again double your impact! All donations to the Capital Campaign before December 31, 2024, will be matched dollar for dollar up to $50,000 thanks to the generosity of the Harry A. Merlo Foundation!
Meet our UC Davis Family Nurse Practitioners
AVH is pleased to welcome these four accomplished women to our team of providers. Nathalie, Mahreen, Emilee and Harshpreetare are graduates of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) – Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Degree Program at UC Davis and are caring for AVH patients in their clinical rotations under the supervision of Dr. Zhao and Dr. Murphy.
According to their website, the UC Davis DNP-FNP Program seeks “nurses with diverse life experiences. We value cultural inclusiveness, new perspectives and untraditional journeys. Our focus on underserved communities better prepares you to be primary care providers in those areas.”
These providers, with their broad range of experience, are wonderful addition to the AVH care team, and we hope that they will enjoy caring for our patients so much that they will stay on when their program is complete!
COVID-19 is still with us. AVH is able to offer the vaccine to all our patients 6 months and older, regardless of insurance type! Call for an appointment today.
An invitation to join the AVH Board of Directors
At Alexander Valley Healthcare, our Board of Directors is guided by our patients, with over half of our members being patients themselves. This approach makes sure that our community’s voices are at the heart of our decision-making. If you’re passionate about healthcare in Cloverdale, and want to make a meaningful difference, we invite you to apply to join the AVH Board. Help shape the future of health in our community!
